Provide high level policy advice to support the effective and efficient establishment of the office of the interim disability commissioner.Provide high level consultancy advice, including complex project management, to support on-going policy and program development and implementation of the office of the interim disability commissioner.Coordinate, support and monitor the implementation of policies, strategies and initiatives.

Period of Appointment Fixed Term, 24 months
Hours per fortnight Up to 44.10 hours


Duties Provide detailed advice and high-level analysis and research on policy matters particularly relating to programs, frameworks, agreements and strategic directions.

Provide high level consultancy advice on the community sector especially in relation to those organisations providing disability support.

Provide both on-going and ad-hoc consultancy advice on policy issues affecting the office of the interim disability commissioner.

Assist in the management of projects for the interim disability commissioner, including the coordination and direction of new initiatives and legislation which have a disability perspective.

Prepare correspondence and advice for the interim disability commissioner on a range of complex policy matters.

Undertake sensitive investigations, negotiations and consultation with relevant stakeholders at the appropriate level.

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people you may be working with (including children and young people) and immediately report any concerns, disclosures, allegations or suspicions of harm. Actively participate in and contribute to practices that will ensure the Agency is a child safe organisation including reporting, record keeping and information sharing obligations.

The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level. Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
