If you are passionate about advocacy and have the skills to drive change, we would love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: Lead policy, advocacy, and campaigns.Facilitate consultation and support the participation of individuals with Down syndrome and their families in informing policy and advocacy efforts.Proactively identify emerging advocacy issues affecting the Down syndrome community.Conduct data analysis and research to strengthen Down Syndrome NSW's advocacy initiatives.Prepare position papers, submissions, and policy documents, including responses to parliamentary inquiries.Deliver detailed reports, as well as recommendations for future actions.Continuously review, improve and refine systems and processes.Qualifications and Requirements: Tertiary qualifications or experience in a related field.Demonstrated understanding and experience with disability, preferably Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities.Strong commitment to the human rights of people with disabilities and principles of participation and inclusion.Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Excellent research and analytical skills to underpin policy positions and campaigns.High-level written communication skills for developing submissions and position statements.Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with members, staff, government representatives, and external organisations.Down Syndrome NSW is an equal opportunity employer.
