This is an APS6 equivalent role. Overview: The Pricing and PBS Policy Branch oversees and shapes supply, pricing and funding of, and access to, Commonwealth subsidised pharmaceuticals in Australia. This is achieved through development and continued improvement of policies and programs, including the PBS. Key Responsibilities: Be a key team member in delivering the 24 month Review of the MSR (delivered by July 2025), by assisting in analysis and modelling to support the evaluation of the effect of the MSR on, for example, medicine shortages, medicine wastage, the viability of low-cost medicines, regulatory burden, and supply risks; Assist the data analyst in the construction of new data sets on medicine shortages and inventory management to support the above analyses; Assist in drafting of the 24 month Review of the MSR (delivered by July 2025); Assist in policy analysis of other related PBS pricing reforms where required. Criteria: Demonstrated expertise in data analytics using Power BI, Qlik, R, Python or equivalent; Demonstrated advanced Excel skills; Demonstrated experience with econometrics and statistical analysis; Demonstrated experience with survey platforms, survey design and analysis; Background or interest in health care policy.
