Term: 6 months 3-4 days a week Day rate: $350 Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health globally, tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Your work will be paramount to building political will related to men's health, supporting strong alliances with civil society, shaping public attitudes and creating the necessary pressure to influence health systems.
You'll be helping Movember build our skills, expertise and capabilities in advocacy & policy. You will also work alongside teams skilled in media, mobilisation, supporter engagement, partnerships and alliances, and men's health research to draw on your political nous and strategic instincts to fuel our engagement with key audiences and stakeholders that build political will for our advocacy focus areas.
The Job The Policy and Advocacy Consultant contributes to policy development and advocacy activity, including the provision of high-level policy advice, stakeholder engagement and advocacy across the organisation's priority areas.
To be successful in this role you will need:
2 years' experience working in policy and advocacy within the community sector, a peak body, government department or statutory authorityKnowledge of the social and political climate in healthStrategic thinking, conceptual agility and analytical skills, including the proven ability to map current trends and issues and contribute to new initiativesInterpersonal and diplomacy skills, including relationship management skills and the proven ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders with competing agendas, handle sensitive issues, and work both independently and as part of a teamIf this is of interest, please submit your application ASAP
