Join a well-reputed NGO in Canberra working on meaningful policies in the health sector.

Our client is a well-regarded Australian non-governmental organisation working closely with the health sector.
Their purpose-driven team is responsible for advocacy work across varied dossiers such as equity, diversity and inclusions, rural health and others.
This is done through research and campaign-driven programs focused on promoting and protecting the interests of doctors, patients, and communities.

The OpportunityThis opportunity is a part-time (3 days a week) role created to cover a parental leave period across a 10–12-month period.
The primary purpose of this role is to:
Conduct research and assist in the development of policies and related materials pertinent to the assigned policy portfolio Offer policy guidance and support for advocacy initiatives Execute specific projects and campaigns The RolePolicy Adviser's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct research and analysis to inform the development of policy and provide advice on issues related to General Practice and Workplace portfolios Manage discrete projects, including the creation and publication of relevant materials Produce written content such as web information, reports, and publications to advise doctor groups on pertinent issues Prepare correspondence and briefs on current issues and campaigns and provide support for various councils and committees by coordinating meeting materials and documenting minutes Foster relationships with external stakeholders and contribute to the team's success in achieving its objectives while undertaking additional duties as needed The Ideal PersonThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in policy or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of policy development.
While experience in a governmental environment can be beneficial, candidates coming from non-governmental or academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
They will have:
Strong ability to collect and analyse quantitative data, contributing to effective policy formulation and project management Excellent skills in providing clear and concise briefings on complex media issues within tight timeframes Proven capacity to work autonomously, utilising initiative to produce high-quality work under pressure with minimal supervision Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and proficiency in using modern software (e.g., MS Office 365) for data analysis and document management Salary / RateAnnual salary is $80k + 11.5% Super (Pro-rata to 3 days per week).
