Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled PMO Project Management Expert to lead and support projects across various government sectors, including health, education, and finance. This 12-month contract offers a salary of up to $175k depending on skills and experience, with opportunities for contract extensions or transitioning into a full-time government position for candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance and align with organizational goals.
The PMO Expert will play a pivotal role in ensuring project governance, supporting workshops and meetings, managing records, and creating high-quality templates, visual tools, and reports to drive clarity, consistency, and success in project execution.
Role Purpose:
The PMO is the central hub for project governance, oversight, and support, ensuring the successful delivery of government initiatives. This includes facilitating collaboration, providing governance frameworks, managing documentation, and delivering impactful tools and reports that help stakeholders make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Templates and Visual Tools Development:
• Design professional-grade templates for project planning, risk tracking, financial reporting, and status updates.
• Create visually compelling presentations, workflows, and dashboards using PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
• Simplify complex information into visual aids that enhance understanding and decision-making.Governance and Reporting:
• Develop and implement governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with organizational and government policies.
• Establish and maintain clear reporting structures, approval processes, and accountability measures.
• Provide regular updates and insights through visually engaging dashboards and reports.Workshops, Facilitation, and Meetings:
• Plan, organize, and facilitate workshops to define project goals, resolve challenges, and improve project outcomes.
• Support meetings by preparing agendas, documenting minutes, tracking actions, and following up to ensure completion.
• Coordinate discussions and outcomes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder needs.Records and Documentation Management:
• Ensure accurate and secure management of project records, including meeting notes, decision logs, and documentation.
• Maintain a centralized repository for project documents, ensuring accessibility and version control.
• Implement processes for archiving and retrieving project data in line with government policies and compliance standards.Risk and Issue Management:
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Use visual tools to effectively communicate risks and proposed solutions to stakeholders.Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance methodologies for better outcomes.
• Train project teams in using standardized tools, templates, and records management practices.Key Requirements: Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, or a related field.
• Proven PMO experience in government sectors, with expertise in governance, facilitation, and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver templates, visual tools, and records management systems.Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira).
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.Soft Skills:
• Exceptional facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with a focus on visual clarity and documentation accuracy.Work Environment and Career Opportunities:
