About the role: McMahon Services is actively seeking a Plumbing Trade Manager to take on a leadership role within our thriving plumbing division. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this is a unique opportunity to spearhead strategic initiatives, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the continued success of the plumbing division. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in sales or business growth, along with experience in strategic operations. Demonstrating the ability to provide valuable input and guidance at both operational and technical levels to a closely-knit team is essential. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the plumbing divisions goals and objectives. This involves setting long-term goals and making decisions that align with the overall vision of the company. Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of the plumbing group, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring effective use of resources. Operational Oversight: Working closely with your Project Managers, Operations Manager and other team members to deliver plumbing projects. Monitor key performance indicators and making adjustments to improve overall operational performance. Leadership and Team Management: Provide strong leadership to the team. Assist in the hiring, training, and development of staff, as well as fostering a positive and productive work environment. Customer and Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Business Development: Contribute to the growth of the plumbing business by exploring new opportunities and developing strategies for increasing revenue. Communication and Reporting: Effectively communicate with senior leadership, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present monthly reports on the plumbing group performance. Quality Control and Continuous Improvement: Implement and oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards of service. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the plumbing group, adapting to changing market conditions and staying competitive in the plumbing sector. About You: Success in this role will enable you to demonstrate the following: Previous leadership / management experience in the plumbing industry or In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, codes and regulations. Proven ability to mentor individuals and create a safe and engaging culture. Have highly developed communication and negotiation skills with experience in preparing/reviewing tenders and other customer agreements. Working with a team, to ensure compliance with clients and McMahon Services' safety, quality and business processes Experience in managing construction scheduling and cost/cash flow management Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions for the project Effective communication skills to build positive relationships with clients, project team, management, suppliers and subcontractors Use problem-solving abilities to find innovative solutions Construction White Card and Current driver's license Excellent written and verbal communication skills and efficient use of MS Project, Outlook, Word, Advantage if experienced in Procore and Pronto or similar programs Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment Ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance Ability on occasions to travel within South Australia to our regional construction sites.
