Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Engineering)Full timeBPD is an award-winning, proud South Australian Dairy Company making high-quality cheese and dairy products out of our 2 Production facilities at Murray Bridge and Jervois.To support our production & reliability teams, we are in the market for an experienced Industrial Automation Technician/PLC Programmer to join our team.Based predominantly at our Jervois Site, the Industrial Automation Technician/PLC Programmer will be responsible for:Development and maintenance of PLC programs & automation systems.Plan, develop and implement new and existing programs.Perform programming required to ensure effective and efficient control systems.Review PLC project requirements and specifications to meet functionality and design needs.Investigate and bring forward to management changes for improving control systems.Continuously improve PLC programs for optimized productivity.Assist in the startup and implementation of automated control systems.Assist and mentor Electricians in PLC fault finding and programming.Be available to provide advice to Shift Electricians in more complex breakdown electrical/automation work.The ideal candidate will have:Qualifications in Automation/PLC Programming.Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering desirable.Previous experience as a PLC Programmer/Automation Technician.Previous Site Electrician experience, preferably within the Dairy Industry or other Food Processing Industries highly considered.Previous experience mentoring or leading Maintenance Teams.Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.Calmness under pressure.Good communication skills (written and verbal).Working knowledge of different PLCs (predominantly Allen Bradley).If this sounds like a great opportunity for you, please apply with a resume/CV and covering letter.Your application will include the following questions:Have you worked in a role which requires fault finding experience?Do you hold a current electrical licence?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as an Automation Engineer?Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check?Have you completed a qualification in electrical engineering?
