Due to significant growth, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on HSEQ Advisor, who is passionate about leading and instilling a safety-first culture. This role will join our team in delivering small, medium and large scale infrastructure projects across South Australia.
The HSEQ Advisor will lead and support teams with a collaborative approach, bringing the businesses needs directly to senior management and provide feedback to ensure continual improvements of HSEQ deliverables. Overall, the HSEQ Advisor will assist with maintaining standards through the oversight of operations for the required project.

Working at Platinum will see you; Lead and support a positive HSEQ culture through visible leadership. Ensure all project operations comply with applicable legislative and contractual requirements. Provide support, coordination, and advice on HSEQ practices, systems and procedures. Work on a variety of construction sites covering Mining, major infrastructure and civil projects. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments including remote appointments. Travel regionally across South Australia. We've told you what we bring, we hope you bring; 2+ years of operational experience in the application of HSE management principles in the construction/Utilities industry (Civil/General Construction) Relevant tertiary qualification in WH&S Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering desirable Demonstrated experience in risk management Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders Ability to support night works where required A high level of written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders Responsibilities Ensure compliance with procedures and legislative and regulatory requirements for health and safety Provide support, coordination, and advice on HSEQ practices, systems and procedures. Identify and correct hazards or potential hazards by inspecting safety equipment, machinery, and facilities of a construction site Ensure that HSEQ induction and training are provided to all relevant employees Review safety devices on equipment, the machinery of direct installation of devices Investigate any incidents, injuries, or near misses recommending effective and appropriate corrective actions Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments including remote appointments Undertake audits to verify compliance and manage Subcontractor compliance Promote and implement best practice management systems and safety in the workplace Associated administration tasks in line with your responsibility. Requirements Experience in a construction or engineering environment within the Health and Safety, Environment and Quality areas Excellent skills in setting priorities, planning, time management, organising and communication Ability to positively influence improved health and safety outcomes Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships internally and externally Have an Engineering degree, diploma or other relevant qualifications as required. Working Conditions Work both on-site and in an office environment depending on when and where construction projects take place. Platinum Civil Construction also provides ongoing services to BHP's Olympic Dam Facility, the successful applicant must be able to support remote appointment in Roxby Downs SA.
