Splunk is seeking a highly motivated, inherently curious, results-oriented individual to join our dynamic pre-sales team. You will be the primary technical advisor for your customers, and their technical advocate within Splunk.
RoleSplunk is seeking a Platform/Cloud Solution Architect to join our Global Technical Sales organization. Cloud/Platform Solution Architects (Platform SAs) are experienced Pre-Sales Solution Architects with demonstrable expertise on Splunk Cloud services, Public cloud and Telecommunications service providers (CSPs), operationalizing data from cloud services and networks. As one of Splunk's specialized technical sales resources, you will be a key participant in securing the technical win on strategic and complex opportunities as well as ensuring successful expansion and operationalizing of Splunk with your customers.
In this role, customer interactions cover a wide range of engagements. Some examples include aligning customer use-cases to Splunk capabilities, providing guidance to customers on architectures that meet their business objectives, presenting to senior customer staff, and acting as an escalation point for Account Sales Engineers (SEs) requiring more detailed technical guidance. Working closely with the Cisco Service Provider architects to assist in designing and scaling complex Splunk deployments covering all aspects of the Cisco and 3rd Party ecosystem in the Telecommunications and Service Provider industry.
A successful Platform/Cloud Solution Architect will not only maintain a technical understanding of cloud products and services from CSPs and Telecommunications Service Providers, but also build cross-functional relationships with SEs, fostering a supportive mentoring environment that helps to build scale and impact Splunk's rapid growth rate.
ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical escalation point for SEs in need of deeper expertise on Splunk Platform, Service Provider integrations, cloud and Telecommunications related technologies pre-sales efforts for regional sales teams.Guide customers through best practices and root cause analysis related to their use-cases and challenges -- including proof-of-concepts, infrastructure analysis / service analysis, and/or collaborating with Account SEs, Sales teams, and other Solution Architects in support of pre-sales opportunities.Research and communicate the positive value of migrating a customer's complex on-premises Splunk Environment to Splunk Cloud or scaling.Develop and deliver best practice plans for customers to prepare for migrations and adopt Splunk Cloud capabilities following migration.Provide guidance, answers and Best Practices as the primary Splunk Cloud advisor for assigned customers throughout the lifecycle including pre-sales and adoption.Provide internal technical expertise, fielding questions related to Splunk Cloud services, and cloud services provided by Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure.Support delivery of technical content for internal and external audiences to advance sales stages and/or support broad engagement at events such as Splunk's annual user conference, .CONF.Operate as a self-starter who is driven by an intense desire to learn, grow, teach & win.RequirementsMust have: Behavioral CompetenciesSignificant experience working directly with or as a customer within a technology company and a real passion for solving technical problems.Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent communication - both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively lead others in a highly-collaborative team environment.Ability to hear, understand, unpack, and ultimately address customer objections.Excellent time management skills and ability to adapt to evolving priorities, with a dedication to championing the customer and your team.Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly while remaining current with the latest industry knowledge.Excellent presentation skills and an expert in using data to articulate a story or issue.Committed to creating and developing high impact team members that promotes the Splunk culture.Passionate about working in a dynamic technical environment and supporting a product with frequent product releases and regular maintenance updates.Willingness to partner with cross-functional teams to drive workflow and process improvements focused on customer experience and efficiency.Must have a growth mindset and operate as a change agent leader for the organization.Must have: Technical Competencies8+ years of experience in a highly technical pre-sales and/or delivery capacity.5+ years of experience architecting data platforms, preferably related to Splunk Enterprise and/or 5+ years of experience working directly with CSP IaaS and PaaS offerings to operationalize data.3+ years of hands-on, working-level expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform and/or Azure IaaS and PaaS with the commensurate expertise to serve as a trusted adviser to our customers; professional certifications are a plus.3+ years experience selling or deploying technology that requires navigation of enterprise networking and security standards.2+ years experience implementing or guiding organizations to operationalize log data from cloud services to achieve business objectives.Practical skills in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, bash, etc.).Understanding of Telecommunications and Service provider concepts and architectures.Nice to haveExperience with metrics data collection and analytics.Understanding of compliance and regulatory policy relevant to your region and/or vertical such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC2, FedRAMP, DoD CC SRG, IRAP, Section 508, WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1 etc.
