About the role The IT Platform Owner is responsible for leading the development, prioritisation and support of technology platforms and products within their portfolio.
This role requires strong business engagement and partnership skills.
In this role you will work closely with the Business Product Owner and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the strategic goals of both the relevant business area and the organisation.
A key component of the role is to translate and break down business requirements into the backlog items and related deliverables for the broader Information Technology teams.
The IT Platform Owner ensures the platforms within their portfolio deliver value to both the business and its stakeholders through effective communication, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership.
Day to day you will: Develop and nurture strong relationships with Business Product Owners, Steering Committees, and other key business stakeholders.
Act as a bridge between the technical team and business functions to ensure alignment and mutual understanding. Create and take ownership of the Platform Backlogs serving as the single source of truth for all platform development activities. Work with the PM Scrum Master and Head of Delivery to align on the most optimal Backlog item breakdown and ensure the smooth flow of work through their Platform support and Delivery Teams. Develop a high-level Platform Roadmap aligned with the Architecture Roadmap and overarching IT Strategy, ensuring that platforms are fit for purpose for future planned initiatives and consistently deliver value to the business. Work closely with Business Product Owners to gather, understand, and translate business requirements into actionable Backlog items.
Develop clear and concise User Stories and Acceptance Criteria that align with Red Cross standards. What you will bring: Strong or demonstrated technical competencies in platforms such as Microsoft D365 with a focus on optimising these technologies to support business objectives. Experience using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, to effectively manage projects, track progress, and collaborate across teams. Proven ability to use multiple formats of communication to convey technical information to a broad audience. Strong ability to break down and prioritise information to solve complex problems. Cross-Functional Project Experience with a proven track record of working on technology projects that span multiple functional teams and business units. Backlog and Deadline Management including experience in managing simultaneous deadlines and prioritizing backlog issues to drive business outcomes and add value.
