The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Platform Architecture, the Platform Architect – Cloud, Infrastructure and Networking role is a key position within Medibank architectural future. This role is responsible for scoping, planning, and architecting solutions and developing strategic architectures as well as longer term investment roadmaps within Cloud, Infrastructure and Network technology domain. It's an exciting time to join us as we're planning on doing some major enhancements to our core systems as well as work on new technology strategies when it comes to our secure data management. The team is also growing and you will work closely with Cloud & Infrastructure and Network operations teams for solution architecture and roadmap development activities.
Responsibilities:
Develop an effective understanding of the Medibank business and technology environment to support solution delivery and strategic evolution of our platforms.
Develop strong and influential working relationships with business and technology stakeholders at Medibank and our customers to ensure successful solution delivery that enables long term growth for our business.
Develop architecture standards, patterns and guardrails relevant to the in-scope technology domains.
Deliver pragmatic, stakeholder focused architecture engagements that balance business needs, strategic technology directions and constraints.
Scope, evaluate and formulate recommendations for technology platforms that progress Medibank's strategic target technology ecosystems in Cloud, Infrastructure and Networking domain.
Collaborate with platform leaders and engineering teams to create clear recommendations, key technology decisions and translate their execution in scalable delivery models.
About you:
You will be an experienced Platform Architect and have the ability to develop strategies, roadmaps and design solutions for:
IaaS and PaaS solutions on AWS and Azure clouds based on 'well architected cloud framework'.
Native network & security services and solutions on AWS or Azure.
DevOps & DevSecOps pipelines and tooling on AWS and Azure.
Datacentre roadmaps to cloud migration.
DR and Backup architectures covering both cloud and on-premise infrastructure and management of unstructured data.
Unstructured Data Migration and Management.
Remote connectivity solutions such as Citrix.
Remote connectivity solutions such as VPN, Secure Web Gateway/SASE, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
SDWAN and MPLS networking technologies.
Entra ID, Conditional Access, SamL.
Filtering via proxies/CASB/Security Profiles.
Firewalls.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to design and facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
The ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
