The bare roots of the job… The role of the Plantation Forester NW is to assist the Silviculture Manager and team with implementation of Forico's plantation management objectives including planning, establishment works, maintenance works, contractor management, and stakeholder interaction. Within this role the Plantation Forester will also have a critical focus on good budget stewardship and on enhancing plantation health, vitality and productivity outcomes.
Who will join our journey… This position would ideally suit an individual who has a tertiary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (Forestry/Environmental Science/Agriculture). A Forest Practices Officer (inspecting or planning) qualification will also be considered favourably.
In addition to this, the incumbent will have excellent communication skills, the ability to establish and maintain strong work relationships, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and organise their workload. They should act and think in a strategic and commercial manner, make sound decisions, drive change and effectively manage change initiatives. Computer proficiency and a current Australian driver's licence are also prerequisites for this role.
