The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join our Operations Team in Kununurra to operate the Shire's plant to assist in delivering the Shire works program and maintenance of roads and drainage and other works in the Kununurra site and surrounds.
Your responsibilities will include:
Work as a team member to undertake duties relating to maintenance and construction projects that enhance or modify Shire roads, drainage and traffic infrastructure, parks, sporting facilities, public open spaces, reserves, streets, ablutions and Shire facilities;Operate plant and equipment in a safe and competent manner as per the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley guidelines and training;Ensure daily pre-operational checks and prescribed plant/machinery maintenance are carried out fully and all faults or defects are reported;Maximising the efficiency of the plant and machinery on all tasks;Interpreting plans and drawings of road and drainage maintenance and construction.Certificate III in Civil Construction or Machinery operation, current Blue/White Construction Safety Card, Traffic Controller certificate, current unrestricted WA Manual "HR" Class Driver's Licence and current First Aid qualification are essential for this role.
You will also need experience and knowledge of roads and drainage maintenance, ability to safely operate heavy plant, ability to provide good customer service and working knowledge of Road Reserve maintenance.
