In this role, you'll: Operate a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance projects.
Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools.
Undertake road maintenance activities which may include, but not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works.
Travel throughout the region to attend worksites including attending call outs on weekends and after hours scheduled night work where required.
About you: We're seeking a team player and knowledgeable plant operator who is experienced in safe and efficient operations of Road maintenance equipment.
You'll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant including (but not limited to) Backhoe, Excavator, Stabiliser, Grader, Roller, Skid Steer, Scraper and Water Cart with proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.
You must hold the following qualifications and set of skills: White Card Relevant demonstrated competencies in plant or, alternatively, tickets of competency.
Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment.
Whilst not essential, a Medium Rigid / Heavy Rigid truck licence, and experience as a Grader Operator would be highly desirable attributes for applicants.
Traffic Control Tickets with Workers on Foot, Implement Traffic Control Plan will be desirable but not essential.
We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously.
Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km distance from the Broken Hill depot or be willing to relocate for the role.
