About the role Due to an internal promotion, V/Line's Plant Maintenance Team has a vacancy for an experienced qualified Mobile Plant and Equipment Fitter to join the wider Network Development Asset and Maintenance Team.
Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor, the role is both workshop and/or field-based on business requirements, where you will be responsible for the maintenance of V/Line's plant and equipment. You will be a part of a medium-sized team comprising varied positions.
Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019 currently paying IMW (TRACK) 3.1 $51.3258 p/h. Key Accountabilities include: Responsible for prioritising, programming, and performing maintenance and repair tasks on plant and vehicles used by Gangs throughout the State of Victoria.Troubleshoot problems and recurring faults. Arrange modifications to plant in consultation with the Plant Maintenance Supervisor.Inspect, maintain, and adjust plant and vehicles regularly in accordance with established guidelines and recommend maintenance strategies.Certify plant is fit for use following servicing and repairs.Ensure quality and safety instructions are complied with.About you For career-minded people, V/Line offers career development opportunities by encouraging career progression through individual learning plans for those who want to own their career path. As one of the Plant and Equipment maintenance fitters, you may be required to work night shifts as needed. Motivation is essential; there will be times where you will be required to work alone, and experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems is required; we use JDE.
