About the Opportunity This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The Planning Manager oversees the planning and scheduling of SSN AUKUS Build projects within the PMO, ensuring efficient coordination and execution of all activities. This role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
Responsibilities Develop detailed project plans and schedules, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation and ensure all activities are planned and coordinated effectivelyManage the allocation of resources, including manpower, materials, and equipmentMonitor resource usage and adjust plans as necessary to meet project demands.Identify and mitigate risks associated with project planning and execution.Develop and implement risk management plans to address potential issues and ensure project successMaintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including project updates, progress reports, and performance metricsLead, mentor, and develop a team of project planners and schedulersAbout you Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent experience.Advanced skills and experience with Primavera P6.Extensive experience managing project planning and scheduling teams.Significant project management services experience, including scope control, Earned Value Management (EVM), project planning and scheduling, estimating, and procurement planning.Familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Project Schedule Management.Strong conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret social, political, and operational environments.Previous experience in a Defence project or manufacturing environment (desired).Relevant management or leadership qualification.Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
