About the Role: As part of our Climate Transition Action Plan, AGL is in the process of closing our thermal power generation assets and replacing them with renewable energy and battery storage assets. We have targets of 5GW by 2030 and 12 GW by 2035. As the Planning Manager – Major Projects you will be responsible for managing the planning function for all projects in the portfolio. You will develop standard planning processes and ensure compliance across the projects, as well as providing accurate planning, scheduling and reporting for projects in the portfolio.
What you'll be doing: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and AGL policy and standards, including the Project Management Framework, systems and governance to ensure a safe working environment for AGL employees and contractors.Ensure consistent and robust planning and scheduling processes across the projectsCoordinate the development and improvement of standard planning procedures, guidelines, templates and coding to allow consistent planning protocols across the portfolioCreate, develop and maintain schedules in order to provide progress reports for projects throughout their lifecycleManage the integration of discreet project schedules into an Integrated Master Schedule and present overall program reports for senior managementAttend Weekly Progress Meetings with contractors. Provide regular analysis of progress and schedule updates provided by contractors to AGL Project Management Team.Collate areas of concern and suggestions for improvements from all projects to highlight trends and improve planning effectiveness. Develop planning documentation for inclusion in tender documents, review tenders for a compliance and conduct reviews on the quality of tender programsApply and ensure compliance with earned value management tools and techniques to interpret data and prepare Schedule Risk Analysis using Deltek Acumen softwareAbout You: You will ideally have experience with high value energy project development and construction project in a planning and scheduling leadership function. You will be an expert in Primavera P6 with experience reporting portfolio and specific project outcomes to senior leadership.
