This is a Full-Time position based in Sydney. This role plays a crucial part in supporting WPP's mission to deliver consistency, delivery excellence and best in class service for Amazon in every country across its diverse businesses, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI.RESPONSIBILITIESLead the interrogation of client briefs, understanding both business and communications objectives at both a campaign and portfolio level.Have strong relationships with media partners to maintain knowledge of the media landscape and understanding of core media principles and the capabilities of each media touchpoint.Actively understand benefits of internal product teams including GroupM product and service teams to ensure you have an understanding about their offerings and relevance to our client challenges.Understand laws of growth to identify and define audiences that drive outcomes for campaign briefs.Report on audience media consumption trends and habits and identify new and interesting opportunities to connect brands to audiences.Deliver in-channel ideation and tactics within campaign planning.Lead the creation of consumer journey maps across paid, owned, earned, and shared media.Understand and apply media planning principles (e.g., scheduling, flighting, recency, effective reach theories, seasonality, market prioritisation, roles of all communication channels) and strong ability to utilise agency and industry tools to enhance and support planned recommendations.Lead planning responses to brief:Work with the strategy team to create actionable comms tasks.Address those comms tasks with the relevant roles of media/channel.Explore the tactics within each channel that unlock the short- and long-term objectives.Ensure all work is measurable back to brand and business outcome.Recommend sufficiency of investments within channel to ensure effective use of channels.Understand how to apply various marketing science approaches and implications and how they influence decision making with media approaches.Deliver thought leadership to clients on a regular basis.Recommend innovation through media and emerging channels within client responses where applicable.Create measurement frameworks and learning agendas to ensure media and recommendation effectiveness and evolve media's contribution measurement outcomes.Proactively explore how to connect data and technology into new approaches to planning within the client brief process.LEADERSHIPMotivate the team to achieve individual, team, and organizational goals.Manage leave and team absences to ensure coverage for team responsibilities and minimal impact to remaining team members.Develop and train team members to ensure they reach their potential.Ensure new team members are onboarded effectively.Empower team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills.Conduct fortnightly 1:1 check-ins, annual Career Conversations, and Annual Performance reviews.Create and foster a cohesive team environment through team activities and cultural moments.QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced knowledge and skills within Media Planning with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.Relevant qualification in Media or Marketing.Experience leading Projects, preferably with a qualification in Project Management.BONUS POINTSExperience within Retail, Entertainment, and/or Technology.Ability to craft, size, and justify audience definitions with limited first-party data.Passion for narrative writing and persuasive arguments.Ability to go wide and deep: no task too small, no challenge too big.BENEFITS OF OPENDOORUnparalleled Access: Gain direct experience working with one of the world's most innovative and influential companies.Mentorship & Training: Receive guidance from experienced professionals at both WPP and Amazon.Cutting-Edge Technology: Utilize industry-leading tools and platforms, including WPP Open.Data-Driven Environment: Develop your analytical skills and contribute to data-driven decision making.Global Impact: Be part of a team that is shaping the future of marketing on a global scale.Apply now and send your CV via the Link.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
