Planning & Geographic Information System OfficerLatitude Recruitment is excited to be recruiting a Planning & GIS Officer on behalf of Green Triangle Forestry Products. As the Planning & GIS Officer, you will be responsible for the management and development of key GTFP spatial and planning systems in accordance with strategic goals. This is an on-site position with some flexibility in working hours. You will also provide in-house technical support to GTFP operational staff through maintenance and improvement of LRM spatial data, work plans, mapping, operational planning, and in-field data capture and access. Responsibilities: Maintain, improve, and analyse the geographic databases associated with GTFP's plantations and biodiversity areas.Perform technical aspects of GIS, including data management, spatial concepts, and map production.Support other GTFP LRM users with work plan production and data extraction from LRM.Manage and further develop key GTFP spatial and planning systems, including the Land Resource Management system (LRM), Geographic Information System (GIS), and further infield data capturing capability.Lead the improvement of electronic field-based data capture and data management systems.Implement GTFP's GIS management plan and review it on an annual basis.Use specialised GIS techniques to support remote sensing and other related technologies.Qualifications: GIS degree/diploma preferred, or proven high competency in GIS applications.Demonstrated ability to use computer systems, including ESRI and Microsoft.Training/experience working in the ESRI Arc Suite of products.Experience in the forestry sector (beneficial but not required).LRM experience (Trimble) (beneficial but not required).Crystal report experience (beneficial but not required).Change management (this role will be expected to manage improvement initiatives involving work practice change).If you are a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in GIS and planning systems, or a new graduate, we encourage you to apply for the position of Planning & GIS Officer.
