The Planning Director is a senior leader in the business that builds upon Sparro's media capabilities, and develops a best-in-market approach to planning, implementation, and reporting of all media channels. The role will involve management of planning specialists to support the vision, capability, and environment that you will create for the agency.

The Planning Director will position and maintain the agency as experts in the media planning arena, through innovative planning methodologies that convince clients to consolidate and grow their media buying with Sparro.
Only candidates with full working rights in Australia will be considered for the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES Lead media planning for Sparro, measurably increasing our own internal standard and compared to the market. Build Sparro's go-to market strategy for all media, including thought leadership and PR opportunities. Work with key clients ongoing, and optimising their media mix to achieve client objectives. Proactively source, validate and close opportunities within Sparro's existing client portfolio. Support the SLT in new business opportunities and proposals. Work with data, strategy and performance teams to build cohesive strategies, tests, and experiment frameworks. Build and nurture a highly skilled and motivated planning team, whilst upskilling the agency at large via training. Be an ambassador for the Sparro values and culture. SKILLS A high level understanding and hands-on skills in media planning – both traditional and digital. An advanced ability to independently plan, strategise, and mobilise to achieve a project. Strong technical knowledge of how to use proprietary and licensed research and planning tools, whilst overlaying your experience, to devise innovative and effective media plans. Ability to work collaboratively with, and get buy-in from, multiple teams and stakeholders. Ability to foster great relationships with key agency media partners that benefits Sparro and clients. Strong leadership skills to inspire and lead a team to achieve a common goal. Exceptional communication, storytelling, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Highly-effective and confident internal and external stakeholder management skills; including the ability to plan and host client and staff workshops, training sessions, pitches and meetings. The Planning Director will work closely with Senior Leadership Team and be able to learn and grow as part of the team through on-the-job mentoring and support from the team and other senior leaders within the business.
Through our in-house training and support, we also look beyond our company to aid our staff's professional development, with access and encouragement to attend industry events, workshops and paid external courses.
