Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.
This role as Planner will be based out of our office in Sydney CBD. This role provides aspects of technical expertise regarding planning and analysis of project schedule information and assists in the development, updating and reporting against the project schedules. Provide clear and concise communication of schedule deviations and impacts to the project management team.
Responsibilities:Understand and support the integrated project controls model through intelligent coding between Primavera, Synchro and Prism and understand the planner's role with Synchro on Quantities/Progress/Forecast Dates and Prism on S-Curves and Progress Reporting.Assist the lead planner in the development of Tender, Project Execution and Baseline schedules during the set-up phase.Develop a working understanding of agreed scope, estimate, commercial framework against assigned scope packages.Ability to represent complex schedule into simple visuals for presentation purposes.Assist in the development of comprehensive Basis of Schedule documents outlining schedule assumptions, construction sequencing, calendars, weather, resources, equipment, and Critical Path information.Assist with planning input to project daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.Assist with progress updates into the working schedule utilising the agreed progress type.In this role you will gain an intermediate level of understanding of Project Controls and significance of planning, change management, progress, forecasting and reporting; become a competent user of Primavera P6; gain experience in being responsible for package schedule management; start to learn forecasting methodology and techniques across multiple areas of scope; the importance of the breakdown structures and interfaces; all which contribute to the overall success in Project Controls providing proactive performance status to the Project Management Team.
You will have 2-3 years of experience in multi-discipline project planning experience, ideally in construction or engineering related mega projects. You will be an experienced user of Primavera P6 and have working knowledge of principles of physical progress and earned value measurement. A degree of qualification in engineering, or related discipline, is preferred but not required.
