The position plays a key role in delivering a high level of service in the preparation and implementation of strategic and environmental planning policies, plans, and assessments.
Some specific tasks include:
Preparing and implementing Local Growth Management Plans including residential, rural, and employment land strategies, amending Local Environmental Plans, and preparing Development Control Plans, and any associated policies, programs, and plans. Implementing the strategic planning activities of Council and supporting and leading projects that occur from time to time. Liaising and consulting with the public (developers, community groups, etc.)
on strategic planning matters and projects. Providing specialist technical information and advice regarding strategic planning matters to Council departments and other public authorities. The successful candidate will meet the criteria set out in the Position Description below.
