Orontide is a leading Western Australian company providing specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation, and integrity maintenance services to the Oil & Gas, Mining, Naval Defence, Marine and Commercial Industries.
As a result of the company's continued growth, an excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated Planner/Estimator with a strong Mechanical background to join our Port Hedland Engineering Business Unit.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Be able to read and interpret simple and complex 2D and 3D drawings.
Develop strategies to win new clients and retain existing.
Ability to plan and execute projects.
Developing detailed timelines.
Completing the required documentation for site work.
Read and understand detailed designs for current work.
Assisting in preparation and submission of tender documentation.
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
Relevant Trade Qualifications Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Fitter/ Boilermaker Welder/ Fabrication Trade.
Competency in reading designs and drawings.
Experience in Production Planning.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safety and quality.
Strong knowledge of various types of structural steel and piping.
Strong mathematical skills required to conduct various calculations from drawings and specifications to generate quotations.
Having sound financial acumen would be highly regarded.
Computer literacy with intermediate MS Excel and MS Word skills.
Experience with MS project will be advantageous.
Be a self-starter and able to work unsupervised.
