You will be responsible for the facilitation of Out of Home Care planning and care options for children within the Child Protection program.
Having a clear understanding of the placement requirements of children and young people, negotiation skills and ability to work with key internal and external stakeholders is essential to ensure service delivery for children in Out of Home Care.While this role is positioned in the North Metro Placement Coordination Unit, the position will be responsible for working divisionally supporting work across both North Metro and North Rural Placement Coordination Units as required.
This position has a small component of being responsible for the implementation and rollout of a working tool database for the Placement Coordination Units across the whole division.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDENegotiate, manage and plan out of care referrals and responses for child protection clients in accordance with the Best Interest Principles.Liaise with Child Protection and Community Service Organisations to identify suitable placement options for children and young people requiring out of home care.
This includes coordinating placement referrals, and facilitating placement planning and referral meetings.Negotiate and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the most appropriate placements and support are provided to children and young people in out of home care.COVID-19 VACCINATIONThe department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances.
