The Opportunity As the Place Planning Officer, you'll be part of a community-focused team tasked with developing Place Plans across East Gippsland's districts.
By engaging with communities and stakeholders, your work will reflect the identity, priorities, and aspirations of each district while aligning with Council's broader strategies.
Key Responsibilities As a part of the Place Planning team, design and deliver district-based Place Plans that shape strategic planning that aligns with local needs and broader Council goals and reflect the unique character of these diverse districts.
Engage community through innovative techniques and IAP2-aligned frameworks to capture their voices.
Build and strengthen relationships with local networks and stakeholders.
Support project planning, communication, and reporting to ensure alignment with Council's strategic goals.
This is a permanent, part-time (0.5EFT) opportunity based in Bairnsdale with hybrid working arrangements available.
Things You're Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria) Relevant tertiary qualification and/or substantial relevant workplace experience in community development, community engagement or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience working in a local government setting and/or strong demonstrated understanding of the role and functions of local government.
High level knowledge of community engagement and planning processes.
Excellent community development, engagement and communication skills including conflict resolution and the ability to gain the co-operation of others.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work within an environment of change and manage community and internal staff relationships.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check, hold a current employee type Working With Children Check and you must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
