The City of Launceston, an award-winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Place and Heritage Officer
Position Number: POS1836
This permanent full-time position will report to the Team Leader, Place Making.
As part of the Place Making team, you will develop strategic and innovative approaches to historic heritage within a Place Making Framework with an emphasis on heritage and built character in Launceston.
The key aspects of this role are to lead or support the development of projects and policies, and provide ongoing guidance which preserves and enhances the character of Launceston's places from a Place Making, heritage and/or urban design perspective.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
A good understanding of statutory and strategic planning processes.
Demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of small to medium strategic projects.
A good working knowledge and experience in urban design, architecture, or current heritage management theory and practice.
Qualifications in town planning, urban design, architecture, archaeology, or a similar heritage-related discipline is desirable.
At least 3 years' experience in a heritage management-related field is highly desirable.
