Are you an experienced Pipe Fabricator or Fitter looking to expand your skills?
This role will see you working at Garden Island Defence Precinct ensuring naval and commercial ships are repaired and serviced to meet the quality and safety standards required.
The Role Your role will involve the following, but not limited to:
Manufacture and installation of pipework in relation to ship repair in both a workshop environment and aboard all types of vessels and buildings with the use of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals in support of the Naval business, in a multi resources team, throughout various environments. Working with pipe systems for heating, hot water and cooling. Primarily working with pipes and valves on the vessels and fabricating in the workshop. Essential Experience & Qualifications You will be required to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.
To be successful for the role you will have:
Extensive experience within ship building industry preferable or alternatively other heavy engineering fields i.e., Mining, Marine, Power Stations, Gas Lines or Bridges MIG, TIG and Stick welding exposure Have the ability to work and interpret drawings Appropriate trade qualifications in Fabrication/Engineering and experience in Pipe Fitting/Fabrication. White Card Sound knowledge in commercial safety requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
