Established in 1972, Stehr Group is an Australian family-owned and run company that is recognised as one of Australia's leading seafood companies, specialising in the offshore ranching and grow-out of Southern Bluefin Tuna. Based in Port Lincoln, Australian Tuna Fisheries / Stehr Group are seeking a motivated person to fill the following vacancies within our dynamic aquaculture company:
We're seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our pilchard & tuna purse seine fishing crew and be part of our vibrant team. Contribute to the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the vessel through the provision of a broad range of skills and abilities related to the fish catching and fish husbandry processes. Experience the thrill of offshore fishing and contribute to a vital industry!
Responsibilities:Assisting in tuna & pilchard netting, hauling, and processing.Assisting in setting up and operating fishing gear.Participating in pilchard & tuna catching activities, including netting and sorting.Adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.Requirements:Prior experience preferred but not necessary.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Physical fitness and willingness to work in challenging weather conditions.Be available for tuna harvest operations.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Maintain cleanliness of vessel.Ensure safety of self, vessel, and others.General maintenance.Basic net repairing skills.Personal abilities and attributes:Passionate and positive personality.Ability to communicate clearly.Ability to work under pressure.Well presented.Innovative and optimistic.Enjoys being part of a team and recognising team successes.Upfront and honest.This is a casual position with the potential for full-time employment for the right candidate.
An appropriate remuneration package will be confirmed subject to the skills, experience, and qualifications of the successful applicant.
A pre-employment medical must be undertaken prior to commencement.
