The Opportunity:
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for providing an effective maintenance planning function by ensuring well planned work orders through the computerized maintenance management system (Pronto).
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for planning mechanical and electrical fixed-plant maintenance tasks within the processing plant, in accordance with established maintenance procedures.
The role will also be responsible for scheduling the work they have planned.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Demonstrate an understanding of PLS safety and environmental policies and maintain an understanding of the main principles.
Report any situation, event or incident that has affected or has the potential to harm the environment to management, the Senior OHS Advisor or the Resident Manager.
Support procedures and work practices aimed at preventing accidents or injuries.
Regularly audit team's work environment and promote a high level of safety awareness.
Actively participate in safety meetings and follow-up or feedback on issues raised are undertaken in an effective manner.
Identify workplace hazards and take appropriate corrective actions.
Adhere to Department Safety Lead Indicator KPIs.
Communication
Effectively communicate with people by:
Providing clear instructions via CMMS (Pronto) to Maintenance Supervisors regarding job allocation, job details, work methods timeframes and allow for adequate feedback.
Regularly liaising with Maintenance and Production Supervisors detailing changing priorities and additional equipment that is to be repaired or modified.
Regularly updating the Planning Superintendent on long and short-term planning issues and contractor to site issues.
Ensuring that supply personnel are aware of maintenance order priorities and shutdown stock requirements.
Providing clear guidelines to site equipment requirements for vendors and repairers.
Core Duties
Establish effective planning measures to ensure that breakdown maintenance is minimized including:
Assist with development and management of Maintenance scheduled tasks, Standard Jobs, Materials lists, Risk analysis and Work instructions.
Contribute to the review, development and implementation of systems, processes and plans that identify improvements to equipment performance and life cycles.
Ensure that Safety is incorporated into the procedures and work orders with the execution of maintenance functions.
Maintain Equipment history of all major and minor tasks.
Develop and set up maintenance strategies including PM's, secondary work orders, BOM's, etc.
Provide Maintenance teams with workable schedule that matches plant and labor availability.
Provide relevant and good quality attachments for work packs to the team members which may include but not limited to JHA's, SWI's etc.
This includes the updating of any of these documents to ensure they are kept relevant and reflect "best practice".
Work through project documents and vendor manuals to assist in planning, scoping and scheduling purposes.
File/ record for future reference.
Co-ordinate parts and resources to meet planning requirements.
Accurately maintain associated documentation and maintenance system procedures within the CMMS.
Forecasting of major maintenance works and managing preventative maintenance plans.
Maintaining historical maintenance records for plant equipment.
Maintaining a foreword workload of work orders, within set KPI targets, that are required for items requiring repair, replacement or modification.
Optimize planning efficiency through creation of standard work instructions for re-occurring maintenance activities.
Contractor to site management for specialist tasks – work pack creation, PO, Costs Review, Invoicing and management of contractor during site time.
Conducting weekly review meetings of work backlogs with operational key stakeholders to establish current status and developing a work program for the following week.
Ordering equipment and consumables not held as stock items through the store as part of work task planning.
Hiring equipment and contractors for specialized tasks not able to be performed by workshop employees.
Ensuring a high standard of record keeping with weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
Team
Provide coverage within the Planning Team as required.
Support efficient communication between Production and Maintenance departments.
Participate in training as required to build capability.
Attend daily prestart and weekly safety meetings of the Planning team.
Qualifications
Work Management (Planning & Scheduling experience).
MS Office & Project.
WA C class driver's license.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
Strong commitment to safety and the environment.
Costs
Assist in monitoring costs on a regular basis to ensure that budget levels are not exceeded by:
Providing assistance in the review of BOMs and spares to ensure adequate spares are held in stock for maintenance activities.
Obtaining sufficient quotes to establish industry competitive offers are being made by equipment and service providers.
Ensuring invoices are accurate and appropriately cost coded prior to approval.
Evaluating regularly the labor requirements to achieve intended work program.
