We are a company that is proud of the regions in which we operate and we aim to reflect and have a positive impact in those diverse communities.Our Pilbara Operation is based in Port Hedland and is home to a permanent residential base of 200+ people who live and work in the region and are supplemented by a FIFO contingent to support shutdown campaigns. We operate multi-disciplinary departments in the mechanical, civil, electrical, plumbing and housing maintenance trades supported by a team of engineering, HSE, fleet management and administrative professionals. We work predominantly for major clients BHP, Roy Hill and FMG whilst also supporting the community and industry in construction, maintenance and demolition.About the role:A unique opportunity has become available to take ownership of the entire Pilbara operation within Western Australia which services our expanding client base including blue chip mining companies.Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will actively lead the division to guarantee the business delivers its strategic objectives whilst ensuring that our customer group's expectations are met.Key responsibilities:Management of the Pilbara Operations to deliver the divisional and corporate strategic objectives;Responsible for the overall performance of the division and customer relationships;Delivery of safety compliance and improved safety performance;Recruitment, selection and training of staff to ensure that staff retention is maintained;Motivating and mentoring of staff to generate a positive and engaging work environment;Commercial governance and guidance to ensure business performance is predictable and delivers dependable results;Reporting and analysis of business systems and data, utilising this information in order to improve profitability;Contribution to short and long term strategy development.About you:This role requires demonstrable exposure at a senior management level, preferably within the Mining and Resource sector, from a contracting perspective.Ideally you will have:Qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Finance, Business Management or a related discipline.Proven leadership skills and management of large multi-disciplined teams (200+ employees).Strong understanding of HSE best practice and compliance.A proactive approach to change management having demonstrated innovation in day-to-day management and business development potential.Proven capacity to lead and inspire teams with an approach that engages and develops a workforce.Established ability to build strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholder groups including clients, suppliers and communities.A demonstrable understanding of commercial and contractual management with excellent working knowledge of Australian construction and maintenance services contracts.Strong financial acumen with the ability to prepare operational budgets as well as the ability to interrogate financial information to make sound business decisions.Minimum five years' experience in a senior management role within the mining or heavy industrial industry.High level of self-discipline, self-motivation, energy and initiative.What we offer:A workplace that focuses on its people and their wellbeing.An opportunity to make an impact at a senior level within a leading construction and maintenance company.The opportunity to further develop your skills and professional development.Competitive remuneration package based on experience.PLEASE NOTE: ONLY APPLICANTS THAT HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MADE IT THROUGH TO THE NEXT STAGE OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS WILL BE CONTACTED.
