Location ProfileDromana College is located on the Mornington Peninsula, approximately 85km south of Melbourne. The college has a student population of 1800, with students bussed in from all parts of the Mornington Peninsula.

The Year 7/8 program focuses on building students' core skills and providing broad access to all eight Learning Domains. It also includes a strong Pastoral Care program that fosters positive relationships among students, teachers, and the wider school community.
In Year 9, the program continues to develop students' core skills while providing choices over their learning, including single-gender English and Maths classes.
Within the Senior School, students can access a broad range of Year 10 and VCE electives, with encouragement for Year 10 students to take VCE Unit 1 and 2 electives. VET Programs are available for students in Years 10, 11, and 12.
Dromana College has undergone significant infrastructure development to cater to the increasing student population, including a state-of-the-art Design Centre and Language Centre.

Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Experience in responding to student learning needs.
SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning programs on student growth.
SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning.
RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
As teachers gain experience, their contributions to the school program increase. All classroom teachers may be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to their qualifications and experience.
Classroom teacher Range 2: Plays a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to school policies and priorities.
Classroom teacher Range 1: Focuses on developing skills and competencies with structured support, responsible for teaching their own classes and assisting in policy development.
ResponsibilitiesThe role may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs.Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions.Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
