People from the remotest, most beautiful part of the Western Desert in Central Australia then used this money to develop their own organisation, with a culture of caring, compassion and determination.
At the time, the focus was to get family members home to Kintore on dialysis.
For people to be looked after on country staying connected to family and community, and to maintain the traditions of looking after country and passing on cultural heritage to future generations.
It took a little time...and a lot of hard work...but in 2004, Purple House started dialysis in Kintore, the first of its kind, and set a precedence for many others to follow.
Today we are proud to say that we have helped many communities to get their people home and now operate dialysis in 20 (and growing) communities across NT, SA and WA, with more on the way.
We also run two mobile dialysis trucks, provide a range of support services including aged care, NDIS, primary health and social support, run a successful bush medicine social enterprise and are always working on new innovations.

Work collaboratively to ensure continuity of holistic quality care for patients with a diagnosed chronic disease and for those who may be at risk of contracting a chronic disease Manage physiotherapy needs for a case load of patients with multiple, complex, chronic diseases Hold physical exercise sessions for patients Improve patient mobility and enhance their quality of life Maintain patient records to a high standard, including progress notes and records of communication with or regarding patients Is this the right role for you? Bachelor or Masters of Physiotherapy Registration with the National Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
Understanding and experience working within the primary healthcare system.
Effective communication cross-culturally and professionally, including well developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience working as a sole clinician Preferred.
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
