Physiotherapist

An opportunity exists for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our team. Chris O'Brien Lifehouse is a fully integrated cancer facility that takes a revolutionary approach to helping those suffering with cancer by bringing together all elements of cancer care, treatment, research, education and emotional support within the one centre of excellence. Our vision is to transform the treatment of cancer, bringing hope to the lives of cancer patients, their careers and families, and to advance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of the disease.

The main duties and responsibilities for the successful applicant will include:

To provide a physiotherapy service to surgical and medical oncology patients on the weekend. To provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to patients. To communicate effectively with the weekday staff about the weekend patient caseloads

Selection Criteria:

Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and AHPRA Minimum 2 years experience in the acute hospital setting, Demonstrated experience in weekend or on-call service Demonstrated ability to provide advanced clinical reasoning skills for ICU and cardiorespiratory/surgical patients, and experience in neurological caseloads Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated excellent initiative and time management Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, liaison and negotiation skills
