The Biomedical Research and Health Sciences fundraising team within the Advancement Office exists to generate philanthropic funding to support those areas of Griffith University.
The Philanthropic Project Manager – Biomedical Research and Health Science is responsible, under broad direction, for providing high-level operational and project management support to the Senior Advancement Manager and across the Biomedical Research and Health Science portfolio.
This role involves a combination of administrative and internally focused support as well as external engagements with donors and potential donors, particularly those making leadership ($100k+) and principal ($1m+) gifts The contributions of this position will be crucial in fostering relationships, managing projects, and contributing to the growth and success of portfolio-specific programs across a dynamic and multi-faceted portfolio.
As a Philanthropic Project Manager for Biomedical Research and Health Science, you'll be part of a team that supports colleagues taking on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change through philanthropy.
Here's how you'll make it matter: You will work in close partnership with the Senior Development Manager to plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising approaches and plans for significant donors in the Biomedical Research and Health Science portfolio.
The main focus will be on supporting gifts above $100k, with some independent work on gifts over $25k.
Assist in the preparation and submission of funding proposals and grant applications for principal and leadership gifts.
Coordinate and provide support to fundraising campaigns, donor engagement activities, and special events, which may require occasional out of hours work.
Manage a fundraising portfolio specifically cultivating and securing gifts between $25k - $500k.
Maintain and enhance relationships with existing donors and prospects through regular communication, stewardship activities and funding timeline management.
Prepare and manage donor correspondence, including impact reports, and updates on research progress in conjunction with the Donor Relations Team.
Handle enquiries from donors, prospects, and stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
About you The successful candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in business; administration; marketing and communications; or biomedical or health sciences with at least four years' relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
You will also have: Extensive organisational skills with excellent time management, attention to detail and ability to juggle competing priorities.
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to critically and creatively think to effectively address needs.
Strong interpersonal skills with the adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and environments.
Demonstrated project management skills.
What we can offer This is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range The full-time base salary for a HEW Level 7 is in the range $98,603 - $106,825 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $115,365 - $124,986 per annum.
