Value The scholarship stipend is approx. $26,000 pa (incremented annually) for 3 years (tax free/HECS except). Continuation of the scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Possible research topics: Three PhD scholarships are available in association with the emergence of the new Higher Education Studies (HES) and our current activities around curriculum transformation, student transitions, institutional change and learning analytics. Applications are invited for commencement in early 2016. A proposal for these PhD scholarships should be focused on one of the following research areas:
curriculum transformation in tertiary educationstudent transitions through education sectorsinterconnectedness between employability, career development learning and work integrated learninglearning analytics in tertiary educationimpact of university outreach programs on higher education aspiration raising and capacity buildingFor further information about the curriculum transformation project and the PhD scholarships, please contact Associate Professor Romy Lawson at ******. Higher Education Studies (HES) Higher Education Studies at the University of Wollongong offers a vibrant, energetic and practice-based research environment focused on teaching and learning in higher education. The successful HDR candidates will have access to the emerging international network of scholars focused on curriculum transformation, learning analytics and transition into, through and out of university. Candidates for the scholarship and HDR research will have access to supervision and co-supervision opportunities from the following units of the DVCA Portfolio that make up Higher Education Studies:

Additional relevant teaching or professional experience in higher education settings and/or peer-reviewed research activity, awards and/or prizes will be considered favourably. Both domestic and international prospective students are encouraged to apply.
Research proposals: Your research proposal should be 3-4 pages in length and include an introduction, a literature review, research design/methodology, expected outcomes, and references. It should directly address one of the topics related to the scholarships listed above.
