PhD Student Scholarship – Fostering Empowerment through Social Media PhD Student Scholarship – 'Fostering empowerment through social media' based at the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare, Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, Bond University.

About the Scholarship
The Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare is calling for expressions of interest from health graduates wishing to complete a PhD exploring links between social media and health.
A full-time scholarship will be offered to a suitable candidate upon successful enrolment in a Doctor of Philosophy at Bond University.
Ongoing research, once enrolled, by the PhD Candidate will lead to refinement of the specific research questions and projects.

The PhD supervisors will include Professor Julie Redfern, Director of the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Professor Nasim Salehi, Head of Program Healthcare Innovations, Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, Bond University.

Proposed area/s of research
Empowering youth through positive social media engagement.
Developing and evaluating gamified training programs to foster responsible social media usage and facilitate access to supportive networks among youth.
Enhancing parents' media literacy to support their children in safe digital navigation.
Equipping healthcare providers to harness social media for youth health promotion and positive behavioural change.
Empowering schools to integrate digital literacy programs that promote safe and responsible social media usage among students.

About the person
Selection Criteria include the following:
Essential
Bachelor degree in health-related area.
Excellent analysis and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team.
Evidence of research project experience and organisational skills, including the ability to achieve goals and deliver outcomes within a specified time period.
Desirable
Demonstrated interest in the research area.
Experience undertaking a substantial research project (e.g.
Masters or Honours Thesis).
Publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
Experience presenting a research study.
Capacity to seek external funding with support from supervisors.
The successful applicant will need to meet all Bond University requirements for entry into the PhD program and achieve the program milestones required by the University Program.
Entry Requirements .

It is also a requirement that the successful applicant be based full-time at the Gold Coast campus.

Salary details
The successful applicant will be entitled to the following benefits:
Tuition fee waiver: The 100% tuition waiver will exempt the successful applicant from tuition fees for a maximum period of four years full-time equivalent.
Stipend: A living stipend at a flat rate of $42,440 per annum for a maximum period of three years for full-time study.
Employment opportunities: The successful applicant may be provided with research assistant work within the Institute for Evidence Based Healthcare.
Employment will be subject to the conditions of the PhD program and the terms of any scholarship awarded.
