The primary focus of this role is to contribute to patient care by providing advanced support to Pharmacists in the delivery of an efficient and effective medicines management service in accordance with current legislation and Australian pharmacy and medicines professional standards and guidelines.
An opportunity has become available for a Pharmacy Assistant - Senior to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will Provide a defined range of pharmacy services for patients under the delegation of a pharmacistDeliver support, mentoring, education, training and supervision to Pharmacy AssistantsPrepare, distribute and dispense pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a PharmacistLiaise with health care providers within the immediate team as well as community health providers such as community pharmacists and general practitionersAbout you To be successful in this position you will require:
Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT47115) or equivalentCertificate of competency in 'Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock' module (HLTPA001)Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)Flexible work optionsSalary PackagingModern FacilitiesDiverse Work Culture12.75% super17.5% leave loadingPermanent full timeBase salary ranging from $73 861 - $78 977 per annumAbout Us The Pharmacy Service provides medication management services across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, 7 days a week. Our team of approximately 80 pharmacists are assisted in their roles by over 40 support persons comprising pharmacy assistants, administration officers, purchasing and stores personnel. The dispensary at each of the two hospital campuses is also equipped with automated dispensing robots to facilitate dispensing, distribution and inventory management activities. Based in Tugun, Southport and Robina.
