The Role This role will be responsible for jointly managing and leading the compliance division as well as assisting with the tax compliance preparation and reviews and any tax consulting matters. The successful applicant will be reporting to our Director and Senior Managers.
The Duties Primarily the duties you will be involved with:
The preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, Sole Traders and Individuals.Review of Financial Statements and Tax Returns prepared by junior accountants.Able to identify, research and provide advice to clients relating to taxation matters and financial reporting issues.Review, analyse and conduct financial investigations/audits for all client work and prepare relevant financial reports for the clients as requested.Assisting clients with budgets and cashflow management for their business.Onboard new clients with minimal interruption to the client and client's business.Assist with implementing, maintaining, improving and training on clients' internal financial management systems and procedures.Additional duties will include:
Continue to learn and be on top of any updates related to the community pharmacy industry.Attending daily team meetings.Manage, mentor and train team members.Improve the efficiency of Peak Strategies Health systems and improve the quality of the product we deliver to our clients.Build and strengthen relationships with all clients (owners and store employees) and industry representatives (i.e. Pharmacy Guild, Financial Institutions, Brokers, Lawyers, etc.).Growing Peak Strategies Health and your own personal brand via networking and marketing.Minimum of 6 years accounting experience with an Australian firm.Strong knowledge of the Pharmacy industry.Experience in the preparation and review of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, Sole Traders and Individuals.Experience with Australian Tax, Corporations Act and Accounting Standards.Knowledgeable in tax matters surrounding business purchases and sales, small business concessions, capital gains tax, payroll tax, FBT, GST, Division 7A, entity structures, tax planning matters and other tax matters ad hoc.Knowledgeable in business internal financial management systems and procedures.Experience mentoring junior staff members and reviewing their work.Strong leadership skills to lead the team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Build strong trust, loyalty and rapport with clients, Peak family and industry representatives.Technical Requirements Fluent in using MYOB and Xero accounting softwares (MYOB preferred).Competent with computer operations as well as some specific applications such as MYOB AO and Microsoft products (Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word).Familiarity with Pharmacy Point of Sales System (Minfos, Fred, Fred Nxt, Z Software, Lots and/or PosWorks).Support Provided The following support will be provided by Peak Strategies Health:
Ongoing mentoring, guidance and support from Director and Senior Manager.Technical and on the job training.Marketing and branding support from in house Marketing Manager.What's in it for you?
