ROLE Radiopharmacist
JOB SUMMARY The Radiopharmacist shall be responsible for performing and supporting the functions of the pharmacy and distributive activities required. They will be responsible for the preparation, compounding, dispensing and distribution of products in line with the company procedures and policies.
LOCATION Brisbane, QLD
ROLE DESCRIPTION Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of Radiopharmacy on shift, customer order receipt, materials orders, production operations (e.g. elution, compounding, dispensing) and Radiopharmacy administration.Ensure timely task completion and coordinate work activities with other staff.Perform other duties, as requested, by fellow departments.Assist with entering required data into radio pharmacy software program; print labels and various forms required for documentation of radiopharmaceutical production, compounding, dispensing, and distribution. Elute generators and perform quality control testing.Radiolabel reagent kits with Tc-99m or other radionuclides, as appropriate.Assure that all record keeping activities are complete.Assure the use of good aseptic technique when manipulating parenteral dosage forms.Perform, or oversee, quality control testing of radiopharmaceuticals and instrumentation, and maintain records of such testing; assure that all compounded radiopharmaceuticals meet accepted radiochemical purity standards before they are administered to patients.Assure that couriers leave on time with doses for customers; assure that all packages (transport cases) are properly marked and labelled and that shipping documents are accurate and complete before doses leave the pharmacy Assure that good radiation safety practices (and all safety practices) are strictly adhered to; be aware of personal exposures and exposure records, and strive to maintain personal exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA)Perform, or oversee, radiation monitoring of the pharmacy (for fixed and removable [loose] contamination) and maintain records of such monitoring activities.Maintain inventory of cold kits and consumable supplies at appropriate levels; place orders to various vendors as required to assure that stock of radiopharmaceuticals and related products is adequate for the supply of customer needs.HOURS This position is Permanent Full Time Monday to Friday 38 hours per week.Weekly rotation - day / night shifts.REQUIREMENTS Essential: Degree qualified in Pharmacy or relevant.
