The Role The EL 1 Pharmacist is accountable under broad direction to provide Class 8 guidance and support to enable deployable health and medical logistics capabilities.
In addition, provide technical, clinical and professional leadership of Army pharmacy and Class 8 logistic services within an integrated workforce.
You will require in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative policies in a pharmaceutical and medical services framework.
The EL 1 Pharmacist will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a subject matter expert role.
You will exercise sound decision-making and judgement providing expert policy advice, pharmacy, and medical logistic services.
You will also be the unit pharmacy lead, accountable for maintaining the pharmacy capability, the outcomes of the teams work, and the appropriate use of resources to achieve outcomes.  This is a warehouse and desk-based position involving computer use and working with others towards shared goals in a collaborative team environment.
About our Team The Army Unit EL 1 Pharmacist will work in an integrated work environment at 1st Health Battalion – Robertson Barracks, Holtze (NT 0832) or 4th Health Battalion – Lavarack Barracks, Townsville (QLD 4813).
You will be required to engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes on behalf of the unit.
As the EL 1 Pharmacist you will be required to coordinate and contribute to the work of the pharmacy capability.
There may be a requirement to coach or supervise other team members and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance.

You will have great attention to detail with the ability to adapt to competing priorities and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
You will be well organised with strong technical and administrative skills and the ability to interpret and practically apply policy in a deployable health context.  Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, diligent inventory management and previous experience working in a pharmacy is necessary.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills will be required to regularly liaise and coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders.
