Are you an Assistant Accountant or an Accounting Officer who has had experience in payroll processing and is looking for a dynamic role in a growing company? PetO, an established family business amid a fast-paced expansion, is on the lookout for a motivated Accounting and Payroll Officer to join our pack.
As we continue to expand with nearly 60 stores and 25 co-located veterinary clinics, our accounting needs have grown through a scaled up payroll and significant increase in the number of activities the finance team are managing. With a payroll integration project on the horizon, we are needing a superstar with excel who is comfortable with manual processes and has an appetite for the planned systems changes that will be implemented over the next 6-12 months.

Key Responsibilities Working with Payroll Lead to deliver processing and superannuation management, including employee queries and financial reportingManage employee timekeeping, records, and leave entitlementsEnsure compliance with payroll legislation (PAYG, superannuation, Payroll Tax...)Maintenance of employee records, in collaboration with HR and FinanceSupport month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations and assist with auditsSupport AP and the broader finance teamUsing advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas) to analyse and manage dataQualifications and Experience A qualification in Accounting, Payroll, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.End to end understanding of payroll processes and financial reportingExperience using payroll systems (e.g., MYOB, Pronto )Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (ability to create and use pivot table, Lookup and complex formulas)Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entryExcellent numerical and analytical skillsProven problem-solving abilities to resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and effectivelyCompany Culture at PetO Step into the vibrant pulse of PetO—an ecosystem where team spirit romps freely and work is joyous collaboration.
