As our Pest Management Technician, you will: Work independently but under direction to conduct field-based scientific technical tasks that support a team undertaking research and development (R&D) or delivery of scientific diagnostic services. Conduct field-based surveillance, sampling, mapping, and treatment activities for the eradication of red imported fire ants. Assist the Team Leader in the completion of tasks associated with the surveillance and treatment of properties/vehicles in accordance with operating procedures. Accurately perform routine tasks in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols or methodologies. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain awareness of current scientific practices and developments relevant to work area. Support effective teamwork by contributing positively to group tasks. Licences and registrations A current unrestricted 'C' class drivers' licence. Current Queensland Pest Management licence. Why join the department?
