The Personnel Security Officer will work as part of a growing team to support our adherence with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), Security of Critical Infrastructure Act requirements and assist with the ASC Security roadmap. This is a fixed term contracted position up to 18 months.ResponsibilitiesEffective and compliant operation, implementation, administration and coordination and management of personnel security arrangements, systems and measures concerning ASC sites.Participate in Security Risk Assessments in collaboration with Security Department for risks associated with Personnel Security matters on all sites.Undertaking, processing background checking, assessing risk and making recommendations to the Personnel Security Manager regarding the suitability of candidates to work at ASC and ongoing suitability of existing personnel.Liaise with security team on security incidents relating to personnel.Undertake verification of applicants' need for a Naval Shipbuilding Sustainment Identification card (NSSIC).Handle personnel information in accordance with the Archives Act, Privacy Act and ASC Privacy Principles.Provide guidance and direction to stakeholders across functions relating to personnel security for clearance holders and non-clearance holders.About youKnowledge of Security disciplines and their practical application to Defence projects, Government or Defence environment.Experience and knowledge in compliance, assurance and governance frameworks.Experience in site Physical, Personnel and Information security in a relevant DISP company, Government or Defence role.High level of Written and verbal communication skills.Excellent problem-solving skills; demonstrated liaison and negotiation skills.High level of integrity and resilience.EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance NV1.
