Personal Assistant to the CEO & HR ManagerSymbio Laboratories is a leading provider of commercial analytical testing services to the food, agricultural, water, environmental and pharmaceutical industries. With laboratories in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Wagga Wagga, Symbio performs important technical analysis on thousands of samples from the food you eat, to the water you drink.
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and resourceful candidate to fill our hybrid role of Personal Assistant to the CEO & HR Manager. If you are a driven individual with strong administrative and HR skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting our CEO and overseeing key HR and Recruitment functions across our business.
THE ROLE This dual role offers the unique opportunity to provide high-level executive support to the CEO, whilst also managing HR functions and other ad-hoc executive tasks for a medium-sized national workforce. With two reporting staff members, you will work closely as a team with company leadership to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, contributing to the overall success of the business through effective executive coordination and HR management.
Key responsibilities include: Executive Support:Provide direct support to the CEO, including diary and calendar management, travel coordination, and meeting scheduling.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the CEO.Prepare and present executive-level reports, presentations and correspondence.Assist in the review and drafting of legal documents, as well as writing and updating company policies and procedures.Coordinate company events and employee recognition programs.Human Resources:Oversee the employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition to onboarding, performance management and offboarding.Manage end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising roles, coordinating interviews, and issuing contracts.Provide broad HR support and industrial relations advice to a national workforce of staff.Manage and advise on company policies and compliance with employment laws and modern awards, as well as employee relations and conflict resolution.Maintain HR records and assist with performance reviews, training, and internship programs.Oversee general corporate compliance, including visa and working entitlements, annualised salary audits and criminal history checks.Ad-hoc:Corporate travel authorisation, budget tracking and reporting.Fleet management tasks, including registration renewals, tracking and infringements.Key projects and initiatives as directed by the CEO.About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Proven experience in a similar role providing high-level support to executives.Demonstrated ability to manage a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS platforms.A resourceful, proactive, and positive approach, with the ability to work autonomously.Experience in social media management, graphic design, and marketing functions is highly desirable.
