Perseus Mining Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join our Finance team in Perth. Reporting directly to the Group Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing tax compliance and reporting for our international operations through preparing income tax returns, managing tax effect accounting calculations, handling ATO reporting requirements, and supporting transfer pricing and transparency reporting.
Further key responsibilities include:
Managing tax reporting, compliance, and administration, including the preparation of Australian income tax returns, payroll tax, GST, fringe benefits tax, and other relevant filings, and updating and maintaining compliance registers. Handling compliance targets with diligence and accuracy on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, ensuring timely completion. Contributing to process improvements and streamlining of tax processes to enhance efficiency and ensuring instructions and memos are well documented. Assisting with tax-related special projects. Working closely with the Finance team and broader business on tax matters. About you Our ideal candidate will be a self-driven tax professional with an international tax background and proficiency in managing compliance autonomously. You will bring excellent organisational skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to accuracy.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will:
Have at least 7-10 years' experience in a tax role, including significant exposure to international tax issues. Have previous experience in tax effect accounting, experience dealing with cross-border tax issues for large groups, and experience with tax software, such as Wolters Kluwer CCH Integrator or similar. Exhibit strong organisational skills to support process improvements, prioritise deadlines, and assist with multiple projects. Have a proactive and diligent approach to managing tax compliance and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Be able to work independently and autonomously. Have a high level of written and verbal communication skills. Be proficient in MS Office. Highly Desirable: Big Four or Mid-Tier experience. Qualifications & Licences: Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting, or finance. CA or CPA qualified. Where you'll be working This position is based in Perseus's Subiaco office, with a corporate team of roughly 50 employees and growing. You'll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
