Following the completion of a comprehensive Strategic Review in May 2024, it was announced that Perpetual Limited will become a standalone Asset Management business and has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) who will acquire the Corporate Trust and Wealth Management businesses.
About the role As a Trust Accountant, you will assist the Perpetual Corporate Trust Accounting team in providing accurate and timely accounting services to managers of securitisation trusts and managed investment trusts (MITs). You will:
Prepare periodic management accounts for a portfolio of clients
Coordinate and prepare audited annual financial statements (Special Purpose and General Purpose)
Coordinate preparation and lodgement of income tax return and annual tax reports including AIIR and PAYGW with tax agent
Prepare budgets and liquidity forecasts
Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
Prepare distribution and withholding tax calculations for MITs and some securitisation trusts
About you Degree qualified (accounting/economics/finance degree majoring in accounting)
Qualified or working towards being qualified CA / CPA
2 - 3 years' experience in an accounting role
Microsoft Word, Excel and Accounting Systems (Xero)
Understanding of tax legislation for trusts in Australia (desirable)
Working knowledge of managed funds and securitisation would be an advantage
Registered as a BAS / Tax Agent and/or auditing experience would be an advantage
