Position Overview: Provide administrative support for the permitting efforts of Ashton Woods and Starlight Homes for the Orlando Metro area working a minimum of 2 days in the local office and 3 days from home; however, additional days may be required in the office due to job responsibilities.
Major Functional Responsibilities: Permitting for Orlando and Starlight HomesFiling and scanning associated with permittingBudget verification utilizing internal systems for check requestsOrganizational skillsAssembly of Start packagesKey Duties: Coordinate plan changes, expired permits, and permit rejectionsEnergy calculations tracking and updating for permittingTruss engineering tracking and updating for permittingPlot plan tracking and updating for permittingWorking drawings tracking and updating for permittingCheck requests tracking and updating for permittingCoordination of homeowner selections to working drawings for new startsCoordination and tracking of permit packages for Florida communitiesUtility setup for communitiesHOA approval submissionsImpact fee payments timing and trackingCoordination with third-party permit runnersProduct approvals document assembly and updatingAttendance and participation in team meetings via video conference or in personDriving to and meeting with municipalities permitting departmentsOther duties as assignedDesired Candidate Qualifications: Highly organized and detail-orientedSelf-motivated is a mustComputer literacy required working with Excel, Word, Email, and databasesFast-paced work pace with high accuracy a mustAbility to react to frequent changes in prioritiesExperience with plans examiners with a municipality is helpful but not necessaryExperience interacting with engineers, architects, and subcontractors is helpful but not necessaryTypical Physical and Mental Demands Of The Role: Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in EnglishEmployees in the position are required to be able to hear and have vision sufficient to utilize all office equipmentUse of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipmentWork from home will be available as a part of this role with some days each week required in the office in Lake MaryRequires occasional lifting of up to 20 poundsThese physical requirements are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Up to 3 days of work is currently performed in a work-from-home environment with 2 or more days which will be in a typical office environment using standard office equipment. Work is typically sedentary in nature, but some walking and standing may be required. Fast-paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
