It is a well-regarded wine producing area in Central West NSW about 4 hours' drive northwest from Sydney. It provides a wide range of recreational activities and amenities, including one of the best golf courses in rural NSW (only one bunker!).Some of the nurses and vets own their own horses and ride in one or more of the local horse-riding clubs including: endurance, dressage, eventing, pony club, polo and polo cross. There is a thriving art scene with a variety of food and music festivals throughout the year. An ideal place to raise a family, in a pleasant social environment, away from the noise and bustle of the city. The schools available, both private and public have high academic and sporting achievements and offer excellent education options.The practice is housed in a purpose-built small animal hospital and currently employs 4 veterinarians with experienced support staff. There is a significant amount of equine reproduction work with opportunities to expand this part of the practice.They are well equipped with:A video endoscope - used in horse racetrack work and small animal diagnosticsDigital wireless radiography - installed for small animal, large animal, and intra-operative situationsDiagnostic ultrasound - used for small animal abdominal and thoracic imaging as well as equine reproduction3 consult rooms and a large surgery roomA range of orthopaedic instrumentationAn Iddex blood analysis system is also on site.They are a small, dedicated team, passionate about what we do, and always aim to provide professional and compassionate care for the patients.The Role:A full-time position is available for a mixed animal veterinarian with some weekend and after-hours work. There will be opportunities for the successful applicant to expand skills in special interest areas!
