Our client is looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a purpose built small animal practice in New South Wales, Australia. with a profit share opportunity.The Practice:The practice is housed in a purpose-built small animal hospital and currently employs 4 veterinarians with experienced support staff. There is a significant amount of equine reproduction work with opportunities to expand this part of the practice.They are well equipped with:A video endoscope - used in horse racetrack work and small animal diagnosticsDigital wireless radiography - installed for small animal, large animal, and intra-operative situationsDiagnostic ultrasound - used for small animal abdominal and thoracic imaging as well as equine reproduction3 consult rooms and a large surgery roomA range of orthopaedic instrumentationAn Iddex blood analysis system is also on site.The Location:Based in a medium sized country town, surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty, including national parks and mountain escarpments. It is a well-regarded wine producing area in Central West NSW about 4 hours' drive northwest from Sydney. It provides a wide range of recreational activities and amenities, including one of the best golf courses in rural NSW (only one bunker!).Some of our client's nurses and vets own their own horses and ride in one or more of the local horse-riding clubs including: endurance, dressage, eventing, pony club, polo and polo cross. There is a thriving art scene with a variety of food and music festivals throughout the year. An ideal place to raise a family, in a pleasant social environment, away from the noise and bustle of the city. The schools available, both private and public have high academic and sporting achievements and offer excellent education options.The Role:As the Lead Veterinarian, you will drive and lead a workplace culture that values quality individual and team performance consistent with best practice procedures, positive working relationships and continuous improvement. You will lead a passionate team to deliver personalised, professional, and dedicated care to our patients and their owners. You will be responsible for the management and supervision of the financial and clinical function of the business and you will have the opportunity to really make it your own with a wide support network.To be successful for this position, you will have at least five years of practical experience and registration or eligibility for registration to work in Australia.
